Matt has been a long time member of the Bar Gym. He signed up back in the early days at our original gym location. He is a local hometown man that graduated from Dundee Crown High School in 2017. After receiving multiple offers to play college baseball, Matt decided to sign on to play college baseball at Illinois Valley until he had to come home to take care of an injury. The love for baseball runs deep in his blood as he coached baseball from 2012-2019 and was an assistant baseball coach for 2015 12u Algonquin Storm Red that took 2nd place at Cooperstown. In 2018, he started powerlifting in 2018. Since then, Matt has competed in six competitions. Matt currently holds the Squat, Bench, Deadlift and Total State Records for USPA Classic Raw JR Division. Matt has big dreams of growing our powerlifting team as well as bringing more high-school athletes. Matt wants to share the knowledge he wishes he knew when he was in high school. When Matt isn’t in the gym, he is eating at a local bbq spot with friends or playing/watching sports.
